Landfill, Convenience Centers To Be Closed Monday, May 27th in observance of Memorial Day


Four Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority facilities will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day.

Locations include:
Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center,

McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center,

Westside Convenience Center, and the

M.L. King Convenience Center.

All locations will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, 2018 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. For more information visit www.DWSWA.org or call 706-277-2545.

Saturday, May 25, 2019 - All Locations Open - Normal Hours (7am – 3pm)

Monday, May 27, 2019 – All Locations Closed

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 – All Locations Open (7am – 6pm) (Westside Normally Closed)

Wednesday, May 29, 2019 – Resume Normal Operating Days and Hours (McGaughey Chapel Closed)

Facilities closed in observance of Thanksgiving Day

The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced the holiday hours of operation for it’s four facilities in Whitfield County. Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta, Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face, and the M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton. 

All locations will be open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21 including the McGaughey Chapel location that is normally closed on Wednesdays. All four sites will be closed on Thursday, November 22 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. All locations will reopen on Friday, November 23 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and resume normal hours.

Facilities closed in observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced the holiday hours of operation for it’s four facilities in Whitfield County. Locations include the Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta, Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face, and the M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton. 

All locations will be closed on Monday, December 25 in observance of Christmas Day, and re-open on Tuesday, December 26 from 7 am to 6 pm. All locations will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018 in observance of New Year’s Day, and re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 7 am to 6 pm.For more information call 706-277-2545.
