The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced that its four Convenience Centers in Whitfield County will have a delayed opening at 10:00 am Monday, January 26, 2026 due to inclement weather.

Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta, Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face, and the M.L. King Blvd. Convenience Center in Dalton.

(Dalton, GA, January 22, 2016) – The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced that it’s four facilities in Whitfield County will be closed on Saturday, January 23 due to inclement weather. (All four locations also closed early at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 22.)

(Dalton, GA, February 26, 2015) –  The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced that the Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill and all four Convenience Center (transfer station) sites in Whitfield county will be closed today, Thursday, February 26, 2015 due to inclement weather. 

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton

** Employees, please check in with your supervisor this morning regarding cleanup efforts. **
