Facilities to be Closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day

(Dalton, GA, May 13, 2015) –  Four Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority facilities will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2015 in observance of Memorial Day.  Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center, Westside Convenience Center, and the M.L. King Convenience Center.

Memorial Day Holiday Schedule:

  • Saturday, May 23, 2015 - All Locations Open - Normal Hours (7am – 3pm)
  • Monday, May 25, 2015 – All Locations Closed
  • Tuesday, May 26, 2015 – All Locations Open (7am – 6pm)   (Westside Normally Closed)
  • Wednesday, May 27, 2014 – Resume Normal Operating Days and Hours (McGaughey Chapel Closed)

(Dalton, GA, February 26, 2015) –  The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced that the Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill and all four Convenience Center (transfer station) sites in Whitfield county will be closed today, Thursday, February 26, 2015 due to inclement weather. 

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton

** Employees, please check in with your supervisor this morning regarding cleanup efforts. **

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton

DELAYED OPENING - FEBRUARY 17, 2015

(Dalton, GA, February 17, 2015) –  The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced a delayed opening of 10:00 am for 3 locations in Whitfield County on Tuesday, February 17 due to inclement weather.  Westside location is normally closed on Tuesdays.

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face (Closed, normally closed on Tuesdays)

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton
