Facilities closed in observance of Independence Day

(Dalton, GA, June 17, 2015) –  Four Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority facilities will close early at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 3, 2015, and will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in observance of Independence Day. 

Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center, Westside Convenience Center, and the M.L. King Convenience Center.

  • Friday, July 3, 2015 – Early Closing 3:00 PM - All Locations
  • Saturday, July 4, 2015 – Closed – All Locations
  • Monday, July 6, 2015 – All Locations Open 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (Resume Normal Operating Days and Hours)

(Dalton, GA, May 13, 2015) –  Four Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority facilities will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2015 in observance of Memorial Day.  Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center, Westside Convenience Center, and the M.L. King Convenience Center.

  • Saturday, May 23, 2015 - All Locations Open - Normal Hours (7am – 3pm)
  • Monday, May 25, 2015 – All Locations Closed

  • Wednesday, May 27, 2014 – Resume Normal Operating Days and Hours (McGaughey Chapel Closed)

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton

** Employees, please check in with your supervisor this morning regarding cleanup efforts. **

(Dalton, GA, February 21, 2015) –  The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has announced that the Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill and all four Convenience Center (transfer station) sites in Whitfield county will remained closed today, Saturday, February 21, 2015 due to icy roads and inclement weather. 

Locations include:

  1. Old Dixie Landfill & Convenience Center

  2. McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center in Cohutta

  3. Westside Convenience Center in Rocky Face

  4. M.L. King Convenience Center in Dalton
