Bird Banding Demonstration with Keep Dalton-Whtifield Beautiful

Dr. David DesRochers, a professor at Dalton State College, will be hosting a bird banding demonstration on April 27th. You will learn how licensed professionals safely catch and handle birds, as well as why bird banding is so important and seeing some species up close. Bird banding is a helpful technique used for studying and identifying individual birds.

This event is free! You may stop by anytime between 8:00 am to 12:00 p.m. at the Peeples Hall Patio at Dalton State College. Feel free to bring some snacks and stay a while! This is a great opportunity to learn about birds up close and talk to a real ornithologist about birds in our area.

Bring your friends and families but please leave your pets at home.
Photos are encouraged!

This event is hosted by Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful thanks to Dalton State and THRIVE's Resilient Community Program.

The goal of this program is to educate our community about the amazing diversity of plants and animals which live on Rocky Face Ridge and the environmental services which the ridge provides, such as flood control, cooling of the air in summer, and the storage of carbon.
